And m 1 Thessalonians 5:14 Paul says to Christians: "comfort the feebleminded, support the weak" . The literal translation of the word "despair" would be "little soul", thus suggesting depression or shyness. Whatever the case discouragement and weakness, Christians must comfort the discouraged and support the weak.
In prison in Rome, Paul could have been discouraged, but instead he wrote and encouraged the church in Philippi: " Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, Rejoice " (Philippians 4:4). He had learned that, whatever the situation, he should be content (Philippians 4:11).
For the church in Rome he wrote: "Accept him whose faith is weak, not, however, to discuss opinions" (Romans 14:1). "Now we who are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please us ourselves "(Romans 15:1). Paul was well equipped to encourage others due to the strength he found in Christ. "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13).
