Having Confidence in Christ

“We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first” (Hebrews 3:14) In Christ we are built on a firm foundation. This foundation built the heavens, the earth and everything we see around us. He is the sole expression of God’s glory and holds the eternal position as Savior seated in the heavenly realm at the right hand of God the Father. As believers, we too have come to partake in Christ and all that He has for us if we hold firm until the end, the confidence we had at first. Paul said in Colossians, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him” (Colossians 2:6). The only way to receive Christ is by faith. Faith placed in what He did to restore and redeem you. Faith is the action of our convictions. When we heard...

Obedience to God

In this article we will consider the topic of obedience. To start we will go to Romans 6:15-18. There we read: Romans 6:15-18 "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin you became slaves of righteousness." According to this passage, one is the servant of the one he obeys, with two possibilities available: either, by obeying sin, he will be a servant of sin, or, by obeying from the heart God and His doctrine,...

What Faith Is

Christ that leads you to commit your whole soul to Him as Saviour (Justifier, Cleanser, Healer, Deliverer) and Lord (Master, King). The NIV translation says, "Faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1 NIV). The NKJV of the Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is a spiritual substance. When you have this spiritual substance in you, it communicates to you a certain inner knowing that the thing you are hoping for is certainly established, even before you see any material evidence that it has happened. Faith is a spiritual force. Faith in God is a response to God's Word which moves God to act. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, "For assuredly I say to you, whoever SAYS to this...

God's blessings in Christ.

A study of the fact of God's blessings is a wonderful study. God is the greatest giver of all. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast in turning," wrote James (Jas. 1: 17, ASV). The Father exemplified the greatest possible giving when he gave his only begotten Son for sinful man (Jn. 3: 16, for a study of John 3: 16 see link at the end of this material). There are numerous Hebrew and Greek words translated bless, blessed, and blessings. Viewed collectively they mean "to declare happy, to speak well of, very happy." Again, I stress that God is the source of all true blessings (Gen. 1: 22, 28, 5: 2). A good example of God's blessings is seen in the case of Abraham (Heb. 6: 14,...

Ambassadors for the Glory of God

Prophecy delivered by Kenneth Copelandon November 14, 2009Washington, D.C. Victory Campaign “Choose your thoughts very carefully that I’ve given you through your Lord and Savior Jesus and by the gift of the Holy Spirit. I’ve given you My Word and My authority to choose your thoughts—keep some, reject some, take authority over them all. Don’t you remember in My Word when I said, ‘Whatsoever things are true, lovely, and of good repoGLISHrt, if there be any virtue, and there be any praise, think on these things’? Remember also I said in My Word, ‘Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus who thought it not robbery to be called equal with God.’ “I have brought you up out of the sin. I have brought you up out of the darkness. I have given you My Word and you have been born again and...

The value of the Bible Study

It is essential that we have a good sense of values. We know this is true in the day-to-day. Is expensive to buy or sell unless we have a proper sense of values. The Bible shows the many shipwrecks that had no discernment of values - Lot, Esau, Balaam, Judas and Demas. We recognize the value of Bible study?  In order to have the correct value of Bible study, we first have an appropriate value of the Bible. For those who will probably read this, you already know the value of the Bible. We know it is very helpful as a guide for this life and to point the way to eternal life. We can talk out of the mouth of its value, but if you really value it, we will study it. Let's review some reasons why we remember the value of Bible study. Give us faith (John 20:31). Faith is necessary for the...

God

The content of the Christian message is found in the book that Christians believe was given by God as a revelation of Himself – the Bible. The Bible tells us things about God that we could not know otherwise. What follows is based solely and completely on that book. The Bible’s message begins with God.  1 The Bible does not argue God’s existence – it simply states it, assuming that man knows that God exists.  2 In fact, the Bible says that the created universe around us is sufficient to demonstrate the existence of God.  3The Bible says there is only one God.  4 He is the Creator of all that is.  5 He is not a part of creation, but is distinct from creation, for He existed prior to the created universe, and was under no compulsion to bring the universe into existence....

The names of the Holy Spirit

Introduction In Biblical times names always had meaning. They were meant to be descriptive of the person who had that name. This is especially true regarding the various names and titles of the Godhead. As a Person, the Holy Spirit has several names all of which have special and unique meaning. We cannot discuss every instance where these names appear in Scripture, but the following study should help us in our understanding of the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God In 1 Corinthians 3:16 He is called 'The Spirit of God' … "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" This is the equivalent of "The Spirit of the Lord GOD" (Isaiah 61:1), "The Spirit of the living God" (2 Corinthians 3:3), and "The Spirit of God" (Genesis 1:2). These verses...
